Lapu Lapu Statue
Dedicated to the first Philippine hero who resisted the Spanish colonization, Lapu Lapu Statue commemorates the nation's fight for independence. This attraction is, simply put, a garden filled with roses. However, upon closer inspection, one can quickly see that it’s no ordinary garden.The white roses even glow at night! Nalusuan Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary offers a look at a protected reef teeming with marine life. Originally bearing the dubious name of "kalusuan" (literally translated as "a place of penises") due to its abundant sea cucumber population, the island was turned into a resort and was instrumental in protecting the reef from the dynamite fishing techiniques employed by the local fishermen.
